February is National Embroidery Month. Seems the web is abuzz with lots of ideas for staying indoors and embroidering, whether it is by hand or by machine.
Since February is the month of St. Valentine’s Day. I’ve been busy embroidering hearts to put about the place. After that, St. Patrick’s Day will be upon us and Easter is very, very early this year.
Other ideas for the month include visiting needlework museums. Yvette Stanton was busy in Europe earlier this year. Here is a link to some of her blog posts where she talks about her adventures: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3.
I found a few contests on the web. Here are two you may be interested in:
Aurifil Thread: Prize: A package of 6 spools of 12 wt thread – Linens and Lace by embroiderer Sheena Norquay. Note, this one ends tomorrow, February 10th.
Threads Magazine: Prize: A $25 gift certificate to EmbroideryOnline.com. Contest ends on February 16th .
So what are you embroidering this month? Are you learning a new stitch? A new style? Learning some digitizing software? Or just decorating in lace?
